What Shareholder Related Content Do Investors Want to See on a Website?

Today's investor knows the important role a company’s Web site plays in the investment decision making process, as it is often the first place he/she will turn for information about a company. But, what content do investors expect to see when they land at a corporate Web site to learn more? 1) Investor Relations Landing Page The IR landing page should present a brief overview of the company. It should also offer information regarding the elements listed below (2-14) or provide links to these elements. 2) Press Releases As press releases cross the newswire, they should be posted to the company Website. 3) Investor Contact Information The name, title, IR agency name (if applicable), phone, and email address of the person whose specific role is to perform investor outreach and other investor relations activities should be clearly visible on the site. 4) SEC Filings Post the company’s SEC filings or include a link to the SEC. 5) Management Team Even if management information is included elsewhere on the site, there should be a link to the management team within the IR section that includes the names and full bios of all senior members. 6) Board of Directors Include a list of all members of the board, along with their bios. 7) Investor Fact Sheet Offer a link to a downloadable version of an investor fact sheet that synthesizes the key investment highlights and other important information. 8) Webcasts/Presentations Corporate/investor presentations used by the company should be available. 9) Email Alerts Email Alerts allow investors to enter their email address to automatically receive company news or announcements via email. 10) Stock Quotes and/or Stock Charts Some companies find it worthwhile to make it easy for investors to access stocks quotes and/or stock charts via a link or a module that sits on the company's site. 11) Investor Kit Request Form A form to request hard copies of information about the company should be included. 12) FAQ Include a link to frequently asked questions that address such issues as IR contact, transfer agent, share structure, etc. 13) RSS Really Simply Syndication (RSS) is a great way to provide a constant flow of information to investors who are particularly interested in a company's news and its offering. 14) Corporate Governance
